Hi There Dear Friends,

When a good friend of mine lost her husband yesterday, I was prompted to write these words to you. He was only 52 when he died of a massive heart attack. My friend is a very faithful lady and thankfully has the support of her family during this difficult time.

Today’s message was one I needed to hear too. So, I thank the Lord for putting it in my mind to share.

DT 33: 25 “Your strength will equal your days.”

When I first read that, I didn’t understand what it meant. However, the following story was related to me which will make it clear.

A little who went on an errand had to cross a wide but shallow stream. There were firm stepping stones all the way over. “Oh, I’m afraid,” said the child to a lady who was passing by. “Why are you afraid? There are stepping stones all the way across; it’s easy to cross. Just try it!” Very timidly the little girl began to cross. “Just one step at a time is all you have to take,” said the kind and gentle guide. So one step followed another. The first were the hardest to take, but soon she was safe on the other side, smiling at her fears.

Applying this to life, we would say, “Just one day at a time.” God promises: “Your strength will equal your days.” There are stepping stones all through life. These stepping stones are the many promises that God has incorporated into His Word. And certain passages, designed especially for the days of stress and strain, when double strength is required, will exercise a power necessary to carry on. There are countless Christians who can testify from personal experience that God’s promise is absolutely reliable: “Your strength will equal your days.”

I find it amazing that God takes us to very uncomfortable places at times, but never without giving us the strength to cope with them. We don’t know the outcome of these tough experiences until they are over, but we can rest assured that God will take us through them if we are willing to relay on Him in faith. He will advance us in the process of sanctification. That means that with faith in Him, we move closer and closer to the consummation of all the promises God makes to us of a life eternal in closeness with Him. That w will have this as joint heirs with Christ to His Kingdom, a place without tears, misery, or sin is nothing short of amazing. Even during the sanctification process that we must go through before glorification, God can work in us to not only help ourselves, but to bring others close to Him too. What a privilege to be used this way!

So, Dear Friends, whatever is on your mind or troubling your body today, keep you eyes focused on the One Who loves you more than words can describe, the One Who wants only the best for you and the ones you love.

In Christ,
Lynn
